Yin Yoga is a quiet and reflective practice targeting the hips, groin, spine, low back, and shoulders. It is often referred to as a quiet practice as poses are done sitting or laying down. Students are guided mindfully into poses to hold for a few minutes. Yin Yoga supports flexibility and helps quiet the mind leading to deep and sustained meditation. Yin Yoga practice is an excellent compliment to the more active yang styles of yoga. Yin Yoga nourishes the body and quiets the mind.
