This patient had phase I treatment. She came in at the age of 8 and we placed braces only on her upper teeth. She completed treatment and was given a Hawley retainer to hold the teeth in place.

Phase 1 treatment, often called early treatment, is indicated in situations where delaying treatment would likely cause jaw growth problems, facial asymmetry, permanent damage to teeth or gums, or when delaying treatment would make future correction significantly more difficult.

This patient began treatment with spacing concerns and was treated with clear aligners to guide her teeth into proper alignment. Dr. Sutton performed precise upper and lower interproximal reduction (IPR) to create the ideal shape for controlled tooth movement. Following aligner treatment, composite bonding was used to refine the shape and proportions of select upper and lower teeth, creating a balanced, stunning result. With her treatment complete, the spaces closed and retainers were provided to help maintain her beautiful new smile.

✨ PHASE I TREATMENT ✨
This patient began his first phase of treatment to prepare him for phase II once all of his permanent teeth come in. He was placed in braces and given elastics to help correct his bite. He had baby teeth remaining when the braces came off. Once all of his permanent teeth come in, he will be ready to begin phase II treatment! 🦷
