Mamas, we see you.
Up every hour. Walking the halls at 3am. Holding your baby upright because laying them down means pain. Watching them arch, spit up, refuse feeds, and cry endlessly.
You’ve tried it all:
* Reflux medication
* Multiple formulas
* Elevated sleep
* Smaller, frequent feeds
* Cutting dairy, soy, and more
And nothing is working.
Reflux isn’t always just a stomach issue. The vagus nerve (cranial nerve X) helps control digestion and the valve between the esophagus and stomach. It coordinates swallowing, breathing, and calming the body.
Stress on a baby’s upper neck during birth, even “easy” births, can affect how the nervous system functions.
When that system is irritated, it can contribute to:
❌ Poor coordination of the stomach valve
❌ Disrupted digestion
❌ A constant “fight-or-flight” state
❌ Difficulty settling or sleeping
Your baby isn’t broken.
Some families choose to have their baby evaluated by a pediatric chiropractor to gently assess the nervous system and upper neck. Adjustments are very light and focused on supporting normal function.
When the nervous system is better regulated, babies may:
✅ Digest more comfortably
✅ Relax more easily
✅ Sleep better
✅ Spit up less
We’ve seen many families notice meaningful changes in a short time, not because reflux was “treated,” but because overall nervous system function improved.
Medication can help manage symptoms. A nervous system–focused approach looks at the bigger picture.
Mama, you’ve been doing everything you can. Sometimes it’s about looking beyond the stomach and supporting the whole system.
If you’re navigating reflux and not seeing progress, consider having your baby’s nervous system evaluated.
