I copied this excerpt, from my colleague in Atlanta, regarding why health care providers choose to be out of network. I posted the full article on my personal website. The article starts with the obscene prices in-network practices, radiological services etc charge to make big money.
"This is just one reason why the majority of pelvic health providers and many other healthcare professionals prefer to remain out of network, or cash pay. Insurance charges co-pays, then fights tooth and nail to reimburse for whatever procedure or service you receive. Your typical in-network PT clinic dictates that your therapist see multiple patients in an hour, so they have to farm out much of your hour long session to PT aides. That often means you need more sessions and longer time to see results."
I am solo in my practice.
