โœจโ€™Twas 30 minutes before therapy, and all through the office,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The room was prepared with great care and delight,
In hopes that the client would feel safe tonight.
The couch was set cozy, the tissues in place,
Counseling tools ready, with a warm, welcoming space.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a client with tales of family holiday fear.
With stories of gatherings, both awkward and tense,
Of relatives arguing, and moments intense.
But here in this space, with compassion and cheer,
Weโ€™ll find ways to navigate the holiday fear.
As they settle in, with a sigh and a smile,
We begin to unravel their thoughts for a while.
And I heard them exclaim, as they left with great might,
โ€œHappy Holidays to all, and to all, peace tonight!โ€ โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธ๐Ÿ•Ž๐ŸŽ„

๐ŸŽถ On the 10th day until Christmas, my therapist said to me: โ€œ10 deep breaths for calming, 9 times to journal, 8 hours of sleeping, 7 mindful moments, 6 self-care visits, 5 positive thoughts... 4 sessions booked, 3 grateful notes, 2 boundary sets, and a healthy and happy โ€˜new meโ€™!โ€ ๐ŸŽถ
Wishing you all peace, joy, and mental wellness this holiday season! Remember, self-care is the best gift you can give yourself. ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธโœจ

Remember, you're not aloneโ€”reaching out for support is a courageous first step in managing seasonal depression and improving your well-being.

In today's fast-paced world, holiday traditions play a crucial role in a child's life. Whether it's cultural, familial, or community celebrations, these festive customs provide children with a sense of identity, belonging, and security. Holiday traditions help kids understand their place and connect with their heritage, fostering pride and resilience. From decorating the Christmas tree to lighting the menorah, these joyful practices become cherished memories, enriching lives and aiding future challenges. We encourage families to nurture their unique holiday traditions, as they are essential for a child's emotional and psychological well-being. Check out the article linked below from Psychology Today to learn more!๐ŸŽ„โ˜ƒ๏ธ๐Ÿ•Ž

Family traditions braid together purpose, respect, and values. They work because the joy is predictable, intentional, shared, and preserved across generations.

โ˜ƒ๏ธAs the holiday season approaches, it's easy to feel overwhelmed with a flurry of invitations, obligations, and expectations. Remember that it's perfectly okay to prioritize your mental health by setting boundaries and choosing where to invest your time and energy. Saying "yes" to the things that truly matter to you can create meaningful experiences, while learning to say "no" can protect your well-being and prevent burnout. It's not about doing it all; it's about doing what feels right for you. Take care of yourself, and give yourself the gift of balance this holiday season.๐ŸŽ„

๐ŸŽ„โœจ Feeling overwhelmed by the holiday hustle and bustle? Remember, it's okay to hit pause and take an "invisible day" just for yourself! An invisible day is a well-deserved break where you disconnect from the demands of the season and focus on self-care and rejuvenation.
