October will be here before we know it, so we’re gearing up for Sweet Street and Trick-Or-Treating!

Not familiar with Sweet Street? Located on Madison Avenue, along Brick Street and surrounding side streets here in North Vernon, it is a safe alternative for families who would prefer not to go door-to-door for trick-or-treating, but it is not to discourage them from doing just that! Sweet Street allows families to visit our vendors which include businesses who may not have a building location, local community members and officials, and other entities who are excited to pass out candy!

Here’s the run down for October 31st, 2025:

🍭Sweet Street, located in Downtown North Vernon, hours: 5:30pm-7:30pm

🍬City of North Vernon Trick-or-Treat hours:
5:00pm-8:00pm

As always we advise all community members to trick-or-treat in groups, use sidewalks and abide by traffic laws. The City of North Vernon Police Department will be posting other safety tips to use this Halloween season, please refer to their page closer to October 31st for more information.

North Vernon Main Street is gearing up for one of our favorite holiday traditions, the Festival of Trees, happening December 5–7 at 50 Short Street, Downtown North Vernon!

We’re inviting local businesses, organizations, and individuals to help spread holiday cheer by donating a decorated tree for the event. Your tree will be displayed throughout the festival, where visitors can stroll through a winter wonderland and even bid on their favorite to take home!

It’s a fun and festive way to showcase your creativity, support downtown, and be part of a community tradition that lights up Main Street every year.
