Ronald Alan Land

Ronald Alan Land, 71, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on February 16, 2025.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Joe Land will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM unil the time of the service. Burial with military graveside rites will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Ronald was born on April 11, 1954, in Seymour, Indiana, to Ronald E. and Betty Lou Robertson Land, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Dean Land.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later continued his service working for the government. A talented and dedicated Design Engineer, he earned numerous patents for his innovative designs throughout his career. His intelligence, creativity, and strong work ethic left a lasting mark on all who worked with him.

Above all, Ronald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Christy Land; his daughter, Melissa Cota; and his cherished grandsons, Anthony Armando Cota and Austin Tyler Cota; brother; Tim Land; sister, Annie Land.

Ronald enjoyed life's simple pleasures - baseball games, spending time with family and friends, backyard barbecues, a nice cold beer, and relaxing in a very hot whirlpool bath. He was extremely generous and showed his love through his actions. Always willing to lend a hand, he would help anyone in need without hesitation.

Ronald will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made in Ronald's memory to the Jennings County High School Baseball Team.
