Resident Spotlight!
Meet Ed and Val! They have been residents of Autumn Trace for a little over a year now. Ed and Val have such an interesting history together. Truly a beautiful love story! They met in school and belonged to the same Parish. When they reached high school years they started dating and have been together since. They have 67 years invested! They have been blessed with 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ed was a wild life biologist for 10 counties! One thing he shared with me that I thought was so cool was, he would introduce animals that were low in population back into their natural habitat and begin rebuilding population again! Three that he mentioned specifically were Turkeys, River Otters and Ruffed Grouse. Ed was a big outdoors man that loved to hunt and fish! He and Val processed their own deer! Ed would field dress them and Val would process the meat. Fresh deer meat was one of their favorites!
Val was a stay at home mother and professional quilt maker. Val was a member of Ducks Unlimited, which is where she donated her quilts, as well as to others in need. She is a Wonderful seamstress Ed said, “ she is like a painter, but with fabric”! Val was a dedicated mother who took pride in caring for her family.
They have settled in very well here at Autumn Trace and enjoys the simplicity of life now. Some of their favorite activities are our community Bingo, Live music and they absolutely loved the magician we had recently! I will put this in their words, Ed and Val said,” Autumn Trace is truly a dream come true for us”.
Pictured here are quilts that Val has made. They are beautiful!
