Raise your arm above your head and hold it there for 60 seconds.
This isn’t a “manifestation pose.”
It’s neurology.
Body position feeds information to the brain through proprioceptors (sensory receptors in your muscles and joints).
When your arms are lifted and your chest opens, you reduce protective flexion patterns — the rounded, guarded posture associated with stress.
Posture influences:
• Vagal tone
• Breathing mechanics
• Sympathetic activation
An open, extended position can encourage deeper diaphragmatic breathing and reduce defensive muscular tension — both of which support parasympathetic activity.
It’s not a cure-all.
But your nervous system is constantly interpreting physical cues from your body.
Sometimes regulation starts with changing the signal.
Try it. Observe your breath. Notice your state.
