09/26/2025 - UPDATE FROM EAGLE CREEK RENEWAL:
Ledgemere Hydro is pleased to share good news in this week’s update on reservoir conditions at the Ledgemere Dam Project.
Current Condition: The reservoir elevation has increased from 305.7 feet on September 19 to 306.1 feet on September 26 (a gain of ~0.4 feet, or about 5 inches).
The reservoir reached 306.0 feet on September 25, which brought it back within the normal post-Labor Day operating range (306.0–308.0 feet).
This means the deviation period has ended, and the project has returned to compliance.
Operations will continue to raise the elevation with the goal of reaching the top/crest of the flashboards (307.0 feet), which is the official target elevation under the project’s Water Quality
Certification.
Repairs and Improvements: Repairs to Gates 1 and 2 remain effective, with only very minor leakage observed, which is normal for this type of structure.
Surveying was completed on September 23, and a new staff gauge has been installed at the correct height.
The SCADA monitoring system has been recalibrated and is now consistent with the staff gauge readings.
The project continues to manage flows under the 90/10 inflow allocation plan, balancing downstream needs with reservoir recovery, in consultation with Maine DEP and Maine DIFW.
Community and Environment: No adverse impacts to aquatic habitat were observed during this event.
Recreational boating and fishing access has improved with the increased elevation.
With compliance restored, this will be the final weekly community update, unless conditions change, the community has questions or further concerns.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through this deviation and ongoing drought conditions.
Sincerely,
Melissa Rondou |Director, Licensing and Compliance
