Neck pain can be unbearably painful… that’s why our intervention (pain management and therapies) is usually aggressive and time is of the essence!

If your dog shows signs of neck discomfort (lowered head and neck, spasms or twitching in the neck muscles, inability to look up, stiffness of the neck, yelping when touched, or inability to move or turn the head) please don’t hesitate to get your pet seen with us ASAP!

Something that we don’t talk about enough is compensational muscle pain 🤕🩹

When there is abnormal gait, posture, or injury, the body recruits muscles to allow for weight to shift away from the pain and dysfunction.

For example, a dog with luxating patellas will shift their weight into their back and take the pressure off their knees. Over time, those back muscles and tissues get very painful!

When treating the WHOLE animal we always identify and treat both the compensational changes and the primary dysfunction (like luxating patellas), making all the difference to a pet’s recovery.

COVID-19 prevented our last seminar series from reaching eager participants… but nothing is stopping us now! We have been quietly working in the background, planning an incredible day of learning. Our very own Dr. Stephanie Coates has teamed up with Amber Curry (RVT and emergency care instructor) to offer you “Elements of K9 Healing” this summer!

Anyone can register for either the four hours of insightful lectures in the morning or the CPR and first aid course in the afternoon, but we encourage participants to register for both. However, the CPR course is limited to the first 50 participants, so act quickly! Please note that registration is required for attendees of either session, and that the registration for each portion is done separately.
