For [Amy] Sugihara, community is as essential as the equipment. She found friends through the program -- other participants she waves to on the trail and partners she now plays pickleball with on her own time.
“The people at All Out Adventures make all the difference,” Sugihara says. “Not only are they incredibly kind, but there’s this respect for everyone. They treat participants as athletes, not as people who need to be helped. There’s a dignity to it.”
