Yoga Bliss Our online yoga studio offers flow & restorative yoga classes. We emphasize mindful movement, self-inquiry & self-care.

We combine functional movements with mindfulness & breathing to support you in deepening your awareness & living your yoga. I help people to slow down, breathe and move with intention and mindfulness. I teach alignment-based vinyasa yoga classes, restorative yoga classes, and I offer Reiki as well as Restorative Yoga with Reiki sessions privately all to help people move from stressed out and overwhelmed back to a place of center, ease and balance

Sometimes it can be challenging to feel spontaneous and playful, especially when “the schedule” feels full and busy. And, unless we consciously schedule in the things that are sweet and meaningful to us, it can feel like a grind.

The big moments of life, like trips and weddings, and graduations are amazing and magical, for sure, but I think the little moments in between - the walk with a friend, hot chocolate in the middle of the week, a spontaneous dance party at bedtime - really add up to most of the magic. They’re the glue (glitter glue, of course) that holds our day-to-day together and restores our sense of joy and fulfillment.

So, what little magical moments are you putting into your life today; this week; this month; this season? What memories can you create today that you will hold dearly in your heart to remind yourself of the fullness of life?

hello dear friends- happy November! It's my favorite month, in my favorite season, and we're exploring my favorite practice: GRATITUDE. 🙏✨

Taking time to acknowledge what you are grateful for helps to reframe things. It's easy for me to focus on what's not working/what's not good. Gratitude offers me a chance to ALSO see what is working/good/right. It's a game changer.

Not your same old cat and cow.  🐱🐮

If you've been to a yoga class, you've done cat-cow. It's a lovely way to begin to move the spine through flexion (cat) and extension (cow).  It's also a lovely way to connect the body with the breath.  That's said, because it's pretty much a staple in almost every yoga class, it's sooo easy to tune out and do it by rote.  Here are 5 ways to explore your cat-cow.

1️⃣ put a block under one hand and let the ribs rotate

2️⃣  put a block under one knee and let the pelvis rotate (i love this on days when my SI joint feels wonky).

3️⃣  let cat ripple into child's pose

4️⃣  walk your table to the right or left and do cat-cow from there

5️⃣  try walking the hands closer together - how does that change how your arms and shoulders respond in the pose?

6️⃣  change up the breathing (inhale in cat, exhale in cow - or inhale in each pose and move on the exhale).

These are just  a few ideas - I bet you can think of more. Have some fun and let me know how it goes.

For years, I followed the cue to externally rotate the arms in Downward Facing Dog. Lovely idea… but for me? It led to elbow discomfort 😣 (I’ve got thoughts on that, but we’ll save those for another time).

After some anatomy and personal explorations, I ditched that cue. And guess what? It opened up a whole new world of sensation and stability 💫

✨ Try this - just change one thing about your hands and arms in downdog: 

👉 Rotate your arms inward slightly — notice the shift in your shoulders, shoulder blades, even your wrists. 

👉 Turn your hands outward while externally rotating your arms — how do your elbows respond? 

👉 Line up your pinky fingers with the pinky edge of your  hand and root that side more than the pointer side — feel that connection in your shoulders and upper back?

  👉 Add a block under one hand and let your trunk rotate — how’s your breath now? 🌬️

There are so many ways to explore a pose. You might just find a new way to feel strong, stable, and supported in an old favorite 💪💖
