Zazen is a Zen Buddhism meditation practice of maintaining awareness of the breath. Deep, natural abdominal breathing is emphasized while maintaining focus on the way the breath moves in & out of the belly. We follow the breath- one inhalation & one exhalation at a time. Each time a thought arises, we return to the breath. We don’t engage with the thought, we simply observe. We don’t follow the thought, but let it pass. All while remaining present. This practice builds tranquility, self awareness, innate clarity, deeper focus & a more settled nervous system.
