As Dr. Aldomoro Burua – Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Health- Uganda explains in this short video, is listed among the 30 high-burden countries for TB; indicating that extra attention and focus to reaching and finding people with TB in the country is needed to control and eliminate the deadly infectious disease. In 2024, through a grant from the Stop TB Partnership with funding from the United States Government as part of the “introducing New Tools Project (iNTP)” 14 MinXray Impact ultra-portable X-ray systems equipped with Qure.ai qXR software were brought into the country for community lung health screening. Together, the Ministry of Health and Infectious Diseases Institute - Makerere University in Uganda will use these new ultra-portable X-ray systems to focus their attention on reaching and finding people with TB who are not usually reached by conventional health infrastructure.

Right now, in , the team at the Infectious Diseases Institute - Makerere University is working with the Ministry of Health- Uganda to roll out 14 MinXray IMPACT ultra-portable X-ray systems equipped with Qure.ai qXR software for community lung health screening. In this short video, Dr. Mary Mudiope explains the project and how they plan to reach and find more people with TB and other lung health abnormalities to link them to the care they need.

Today, at a high-level event in , U.S. Ambassador William W. Popp of the U.S. Embassy Uganda handed over 14 Impact ultra-portable X-ray systems equipped with Qure.ai qXR software to the Ministry of Health- Uganda (MOH) to support community-based lung health screening. This project, supported through a grant from the Stop TB Partnership with funding from the United States Government as part of the “introducing New Tools Project (iNTP)”, seeks to reach and find people with TB and link them to care. The MOH, lead partner deploying these new systems (the Infectious Diseases Institute - Makerere University) and radiographers and front-line health care workers from across Uganda have this message of thanks to pass on to the people of America.
