The Astellas Global Health Foundation has awarded USD 2.15 million in new grants to support community-based health solutions in Latin America and Africa.
CBM Christoffel-Blindenmission in Deutschland (CBM)
Supporting inclusive mental health and psychosocial services in Guatemala and Honduras, with a focus on adolescents, women, and persons with disabilities. Activities include community-based counselling, awareness raising, and strengthening referral and institutional systems.
St John International | St John Malawi
Strengthening community-based emergency and first aid services in Lirangwe and Ameca Catchment Areas of Blantyre Rural, Southern Malawi by training and equipping 4,000 Community Health Workers to act as first responders and health educators.
Johanniter International Assistance
Improving disaster preparedness and health system resilience in northern Mozambique through climate-resilient health facilities, trained health workers and community responders, and strengthened local disaster risk management structures.
Together, these initiatives are expected to reach nearly 856,000 people, strengthening local health systems and expanding access to essential care.
