Mission Statement: The Mount Desert Nursing Association’s mission is to improve the health, safety, and independence of the people of Mount Desert Island through the delivery of high quality and compassionate skilled nursing and other in-home health care services, advocacy, education and prevention programs. Please note special hours for Loan Closet Pickup/Drop off: MWF 9:30am-11:30am and T/Th 1:30pm-3:30pm. At this time we do not need crutches, walkers, commodes, or shower chairs for donation.

Our office is closed for the remainder of today 12/29 due to heating issues being resolved. Our admin staff is working remotely & our on-call nurse is available.

We will be back open tomorrow as usual! Please stay safe on the roads.

2025 was our 76th year serving our island community and a busy one at that! We are grateful for all the support we received from our neighbors, donors, local businesses, and foundations.

Because of you, we served over 400 patients in their homes after injury or illness, helping them regain their strength and independence.

We look forward to continuing this important work in 2026!
