Here’s a phenomenal way to load the quads. It can be an aggressive position, so if you’re battling knee pain it may not be the best time for this one. We typically introduce these as we calm the knees down around the middle/latter portion of a rehab program.
Start in a kneeling position, use your back foot to drive directly upwards. This loads your back leg’s quad. To maximize your back leg’s quad contraction, be sure the torso stays vertical the entire time. Hold for 3-5s, enjoy the burn.
