I was recently quoted in Newsweek on the question of generational resilience as it applies to Baby Boomers and Gen Z.
Here’s what I see clinically:
Boomers were taught to endure.
Gen Z has been forced to self-reflect.
Endurance and emotional awareness are different skill sets.
As a GenXer, personally and professionally, I am front row to both.
Grateful to add a clinician’s perspective to this conversation, and thank you to the talented Melissa Afshar
Experts say Boomers’ post-war childhoods forged resilience—but Gen Z’s openness shows how strength is evolving.
