A new study published in Menopause reveals that early menopause symptoms are often very different from what women expect. While many anticipate hot flashes and weight gain, women actually experiencing perimenopause report overwhelming exhaustion, fatigue, irritability, depression, sleep issues, and brain fog far more often. The findings highlight a major gap between expectation and reality—and the need for better awareness, support, and care for women navigating early hormonal changes.
