Update regarding tele-therapy:

To do our part to support social distancing efforts, we ask that all sessions proceed online until further notice. For the time being there will be no in-person sessions at our office.

Clients who are not active in the client portal will receive invitations to join, so please follow instructions from Jituzu. This set up should take a few minutes so please complete this step before your scheduled appointment.

Our office is committed to maintaining a healthy environment for our clients. We are respectful and appreciative of social distancing efforts as our community works together to limit cases of COVID 19. We have the ability to offer therapy via secure videoconferencing during this unique time. Our therapists will be communicating with clients who have upcoming appointments about how to take part in this option. Our Story and How We Can Help You

Licensed Professional Counselors, Sonya Guy and Julia Madrid established Viewpoint Counseling Professionals in 2018. Sonya and Julia were colleagues for several years at an agency formerly known as the DCH Employee Assistance Program where they counseled individuals, couples, and families as well as provided services such as workshops and trainings to many of the Tuscaloosa area’s top employers. When DCH sold the Employee Assistance Program in the summer of 2018, Sonya and Julia realized this was the nudge they needed to open a private practice.

At Viewpoint Counseling Professionals, it is our goal to help our clients navigate their difficult circumstances while providing the highest degree of professional counseling from knowledgeable therapists. The practice’s name was carefully chosen to reflect a core premise of our work: we care about each of our client’s unique perspective and personal history.
