A Memorable Journey Through Detroit.
Our residents enjoyed a special guided tour of downtown Detroit, all from the comfort and convenience of the Oakmont Northville Shuttle Bus. This unique excursion was thoughtfully organized by Julie and Davarus from our Activity and Transportation Department, who worked together to create an unforgettable experience for our residents. To make the experience even more enjoyable, the tour featured Detroit-based trivia, encouraging residents to test their knowledge and spark conversations. Many residents shared their own memories of Detroit, recalling the city as it was in years past. The Kerns Clock, in particular, stood out as a nostalgic meeting spot for several residents, evoking fond memories and stories. The tour included the original Tiger Stadium, Fisher Building, DIA, Detroit African American Museum, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Little Caesars Arena, The Fox Theater, the Philmore Theatre, Spirit of Detroit, Penopscot Building, Joe Louis Arena, Detroit Opera House, GM Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza, Lafayette and American Coney Island, The Motown Museum and many more historical landmarks throughout the city.
