"For the past eleven years, I have served as the Grief Workshop Coordinator at Ward Church and as a volunteer with the New Hope Center for Grief Support. In this role, I coordinate every facet of the eight‑week workshops at Ward, including volunteer and facilitator training sessions and the Memorial Candle Lighting. It is a privilege to walk alongside people who are grieving and to witness the courage it takes to share their deeply personal stories of loss and to take steps toward healing. I have seen God transform lives in a matter of weeks, and many participants go on to volunteer with New Hope as speakers and facilitators, helping other grievers find hope, healing, and new beginnings. My husband, Bobby, and I are blessed to be part of this ministry, and I thank God for the New Hope family, who I believe are the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus."- Nancy Hearn

Workshop Registration: In-person Workshop Walk-Ins at Ward Church (Door 3) are welcome to join us for Week 1, on February 23rd. If you want to attend our virtual workshop, please email susan@newhopecenter.net, and she will get you registered.

Our next "From Grief to New Hope" 8-Week Workshop will be on Mondays, February 23-April 13, 2026, from 6:45-8:30pm, offered in-person at Ward Church and virtually. If you have experienced the death of a loved one, please join us for our workshop, which combines the educational components of a seminar with the safety and support of a peer group. This workshop is for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one, regardless of how long it has been since the loss occurred. This workshop is a safe place to express your grief and begin the healing process. Each session includes a speaker presentation for all and a smaller group discussion time. These small groups are guided by facilitators who have also experienced similar losses and have traveled their own grief journey. This workshop is free, but registration is required.

💛 Grief doesn’t take a night off, and neither does support.
Family Friday is a monthly evening for children ages 4-14 and their parents or caregivers who are grieving the death of a loved one. Children and adults meet separately in age-appropriate, supportive spaces. This program is free of charge for families.

💙 Grief can feel overwhelming, especially as a teen. You don’t have to go through it alone.

Our Teen Grief Group is an 8-week support group for teens who are grieving the death of a loved one. This group offers a safe, supportive space to talk, connect with others who understand, and learn healthy ways to cope with grief.
