As we move into a new year together, we wanted to share a few important reminders to help support smooth scheduling and continued care.

✨ A 24-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid a late cancel fee. When you call or email the office—or your clinician directly—it helps us serve our clients better by allowing us to offer that appointment time to another client who may need support.

✨ With the start of the year, new annual paperwork is now available in your client portal. Please be sure to complete this prior to your next session so your care can continue without interruption.

We look forward to working with you in 2026, continuing to support healing, growth, and meaningful progress. Thank you for being part of the PCS community 💙

😌 Your nervous system is always listening.

What we often label as overreacting is actually the body responding to signals of safety or threat.

When you begin to notice what agitates your system ~ and what restores it ~ you gain choice.

Regulation isn’t about doing more.
It’s about offering your body what it needs to feel safe.

Which one does your nervous system need today?

✨Happy New Year from all of us at PCS Counseling!

As we welcome the start of a new year, we want to take a moment to thank you for allowing us to be part of your care. We’re looking forward to continuing to support you in the months ahead ~ you don’t have to do it alone.

A quick to-do as we begin the year:
Each January, we update our annual paperwork. Please log into the client portal and complete the new yearly forms before your next scheduled appointment, as this helps us keep your records current and avoid any interruptions in care.

Insurance & deductibles:
If you have questions about deductibles, coverage changes, or how to move forward with billing in the new year, our front desk team is happy to help. Please contact us and ask to speak with Sarah.
📞 Front Desk: 734-542-6969

We appreciate your attention to these details and are grateful to continue walking alongside you this year. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Warmly,
The PCS Counseling Team

🕯 12 Days of Calm for Christmas — Day 12 🕯
Christmas Eve | Name the Feeling 🤍

On Christmas Eve, there can be many emotions at once. Anticipation. Tenderness. Grief. Gratitude. Overwhelm. Quiet joy.

Pause and name what’s present —
without fixing it, without explaining it away.

Then try a Hands-Over-Heart Hold:

✨ Place both palms gently over your chest
✨ Feel the warmth beneath your hands
✨ Notice your breath
✨ Slowly lengthen the exhale

This simple practice reminds your nervous system that you are safe right now.

You don’t have to feel a certain way tonight.
Whatever is here belongs.

Wishing you steadiness, warmth, and gentle calm this Christmas Eve. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Calm for Christmas | Day 11
✨ Scent Memory Reset ✨

Open a spice jar, candle, lotion, or any natural scent you already have.

Take one slow inhale.
Let the scent land before you rush to the next thing.

Aromatherapy works directly with the nervous system and memory centers of the brain.
A single mindful breath can gently shift your body out of stress and into presence.

You’re not trying to change the moment —
just reminding your body that you are here and safe.

One breath.
One scent.
That’s enough for today. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Christmas Calm | Day 10 🎄
🎧 Soothing Sound

Soft music.
Nature sounds.
Gentle humming.
White noise.

Just 5–10 minutes of intentional sound can help calm the nervous system and reduce stress.

Sound offers rhythmic, predictable input that signals safety to the body, helping shift out of fight-or-flight and into a more regulated state.

✨ No fixing
✨ No productivity
✨ Just support

Let the sound hold you today. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Calm for Christmas ~ Day 9 🌑
Winter Solstice | Put Something Down

The solstice invites release.
The longest night reminds us we don’t have to carry everything forward.

Put something down today.
Choose one thing not to take into tomorrow:

• an expectation
• a thought
• a task
• a pressure

Write it down.
Throw it away.

You don’t have to resolve it.
You don’t have to replace it.
Let the space be enough. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Calm for Christmas | Day 8 🎄
Slow the Pace

The holiday hustle and bustle can quietly convince us that we need to rush, hurry, and squeeze in one more thing even when our bodies are asking for rest.

Today’s practice is a gentle reminder: you don’t have to move at the season’s speed.

You get to choose your own rhythm.

Walk a little slower.
Speak a little softer.
Pause before the next task instead of rushing into it.

Intentionally slowing down helps signal safety to your nervous system, creating space for regulation, presence, and ease ~ right in the middle of a busy season.

✨ Less rushing
✨ More grounding
✨ A calmer, steadier nervous system

Let today be less about keeping up
and more about coming back to yourself. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Calm for Christmas | Day 7
Boundary Reset

Peace isn’t something you find ~ it’s something you protect.

Today, name one thing you are not available for.

Not explaining.
Not fixing.
Not over-extending.

Boundaries aren’t walls ~ they’re how we protect our peace and support our nervous system during a busy season.

✨ Choose rest over reaction.
✨ Choose clarity over guilt.
✨ Choose yourself, gently.

Let that be enough today. 🤍

🎄 12 Days of Calm for Christmas | Day 6 ☕️
Slow Sipping

Pause for a moment.
Hold a warm cup in your hands.
Maybe it’s chamomile, lavender, or a cozy holiday spice blend.

Take a slow sip.
Notice the warmth.
Notice the scent.
Notice your shoulders soften just a little.

Slow sipping isn’t about the tea ~ it’s about signaling safety to your nervous system.
Warmth, scent, and intentional pacing help the body shift out of stress and into comfort.

✨ No fixing.
✨ No multitasking.
✨ Just a few quiet moments to warm your body and your soul.

Let this be enough today. 🤍

🎄✨ 12 Days of Christmas Calm | Day 5 ✨🎄
Pause from Your Phone

Today’s practice is simple and powerful.

Step away from your phone, laptop, or screen for an extended pause.

Try 30-60 minutes without checking, scrolling, or responding.

Notice:
📵 How your body feels when the screen goes down
🧠 How your mind begins to settle
💛 What it’s like to be present without stimulation

This isn’t about doing it “perfectly.”
It’s about giving your nervous system a chance to reset without input, noise, or demands.

✨ You don’t have to disconnect forever just long enough to come back to yourself.

🎄 12 Days of Christmas Calm | Day 4 🎄
✨ Box Breathing ✨

When your mind feels busy or your body feels tense, return to your breath.

🌀 Inhale — 4
🟦 Hold — 4
🌀 Exhale — 4
🟦 Hold — 4

Repeat for 2–3 minutes.

This simple, structured breathing pattern helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and bring your body back into a sense of safety and calm.

No fixing. No forcing.
Just breath, rhythm, and support. 🤍

✨ Small moments of regulation make a difference.
