Today’s leadership meeting brought some unexpected laughs. We decided to leave Kevin out of our inside joke — “anything but a water bottle.” Let’s just say there was no shortage of creative drinking vessels around the table… and even more laughter to go with them.
At least he caught on eventually! 🤣💧

March 24 is World TB Day
Today, we recognize World TB Day and raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB)—a disease that still affects millions of people around the world.
This day commemorates the historic discovery in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch identified the bacterium that causes TB, paving the way for diagnosis and treatment.
Together with partners and communities, the CDC continues working to prevent, find, and cure TB. By raising awareness, supporting testing and treatment, and strengthening public health efforts, we move closer to eliminating TB.
Let’s work together to end TB.

Student Engagement – On March 11, Earl Legleiter, Administrator of the Educonomy Grant with the Fort Hays State University Foundation, visited Norton County Hospital along with Teresa Schulze and Erin Manning from Norton Community High School and Dallas Gosselin from Norton County Economic Development. During the visit, Mr. Legleiter met with students from NCHS who have been shadowing at the hospital this school year as part of their Work-Based Learning program.

This school year, NCH has hosted 11 high school students through shadowing programs. We have also had other students who have come independently to spend shorter times in our clinical departments. Our staff continues to do an excellent job partnering with the school and supporting these students, helping make the program a success while encouraging local youth to explore healthcare as a potential career path.
