We are currently looking to hire a receptionist for a minimum of 3 days a week. You would be working for me and Dr. French (chiropractor I share space with). It is a very friendly atmosphere to work in. Please call the office at 203-853-6570 if you or anyone you know would be interested in the position.

Yesterday I received my second Pfizer Covid 19 vaccination. Fortunately, the only side effect is mild soreness at the site of the injection. I feel blessed that modern medicine is available to protect us and move us back to a more normal life. Here at East Avenue Podiatry we will continue to practice all the safety measures in place since early in the pandemic. I am so glad that my getting vaccinated should help those around me be more safe. Stay healthy and be safe.

December 23, 2020 I went to Norwalk Hospital and had my 1st vaccination for Covid 19. I received the vaccine made by Pfizer. It is truly miraculous that we currently have 2 vaccines that have been cleared by the FDA for emergency use. Previously, the record time for a vaccine to be produced was four years. These vaccines came to market in less than one year. I wanted to share my feelings on the vaccines. The disclaimer is that I am a podiatrist and not an expert on vaccines. I chose to get inoculated at my earliest opportunity because I have confidence in both the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. They have gone through the 3 stages of testing that all vaccines go through. The volunteers that participated in stage III testing were followed for 2 months after their last dose to monitor for any side effects. My understanding is that side effects for vaccines overwhelmingly occur within the first 2 months. Dr. Fauci stated that it is virtually unheard of for unwanted side effects to occur years later. I concluded catching Covid 19 is many times more dangerous that the vaccination. To me it was not only important to protect myself, but I wanted to know I was also protecting my loved ones and my patients and society as a whole. If approximately 75% of the population gets vaccinated we will have what is called herd immunity. This is a situation where it is very difficult for the transmission of the virus to occur in our country therefore protecting those that are unable to get the vaccination due to allergies or other medical conditions. I wish all of you Happy Holidays and a healthy, successful 2021.

I hope all are safe and well. In consideration of our patient's health and to maintain a safe environment for them to receive their important foot care, we have implemented a new process at our office. When a patient arrives, he or she calls the office from the parking lot. I personally meet them by the side door which is very close to my suite. I then es**rt them essentially from the parking lot straight to our office and into the treatment chair. There is no receptionist present and the patient only interacts with me. The patient literally does not have to touch any doors as I es**rt them in.
We continue to separate our patients on the schedule with the goal of having only one patient in the office at a time. Clorox wipes are utilized between patients. I wear a mask during the entire interaction and of course wash hands thoroughly with soap and water between patients. We also have hand sanitizer out and available for our patient's use.
The healthcare we provide is important. Many of our patient's are at risk of complications if they postpone their treatment and in some cases would end up in the emergency room where they would likely be exposed to many Covid19 infected patients. We are also caring for first responders who can not afford to be hindered by pain or worse as they do their important work. While there are times postponing an appointment makes sense, in many cases the patient remains less likely to contract Covid19 by seeing us and not puting off important foot care.
We are all in this together and will make it through.
In good health,
Lonnie Resnick DPM

To our patients,

Our office is remaining open during this pandemic. We are following the CDC guidelines regarding the monitoring of staff and are thoroughly disinfecting after each patient. We have also temporarily reduced staff to minimize the number of contacts we have with others. Scheduling has also been adjusted with the goal of having only one patient in the office at a time.

I believe that the availability of podiatric medical care is important during a time of an increased load on hospitals. Podiatric care lowers the risks of more serious complications that lead to Emergency Room visits and hospitalizations.

We may have altered hours and schedules during the next few weeks, so please call ahead for an appointment and please leave a message if the phone is not picked up due to limited staff. You will be called back to schedule the appointment. Be safe.

Best,
Lonnie Resnick DPM
