EastEnders’ Zoe Slater will be left trapped later this month when a fire rips through No.25. Oscar Branning stages a daring rescue attempt, and while the building burns there are more shocks in store for the locals as secrets are revealed and a familiar face returns…

In the week before Christmas, Oscar arrives home with Jasmine, who has been lying low since shoving Cindy down the stairs. Even though Jasmine has tried to deny any involvement in the incident, Cindy is still on edge in her presence and storms off when she sees her, while Ian calls the police.

Under interrogation, enigmatic Jasmine’s identity, and her connection to Cindy’s witness protection past with the Ford family, is finally revealed…

Also hanging out in the Beale-Branning house is Zoe, who has been the target of a horrifying hate campaign for weeks. The person behind the intimidation is still yet to be identified, and the mystery is deepening even further.

Zoe is still determined to find her long-lost son, despite her search being frustratingly fruitless. Concerned for her daughter’s mental health, Kat’s desperate quest for help leads to a revelation.

"Kat gets chatting to one of the locals which results in a huge discovery," reveals our insider. "She’s left reeling, as she definitely gets more than she bargained for when she entered into this unexpected conversation.

"Kat’s mind is immediately whirring over what she’s learnt and she needs to speak to Zoe, but disaster is about to strike!”

Meanwhile, after the bombshells about her backstory, the net is closing in on Jasmine. Oscar isn’t sure what to believe anymore and tries to get the truth out of his wily girlfriend.

Jasmine remains guarded, much to Oscar’s annoyance. Tired of her constantly shutting him out and giving him the run-around, he decides to end their rollercoaster relationship. Can Jasmine explain herself and win him round, or has Oscar turned his back on her for good?

Word soon spreads about the blaze, and Kat is beside herself when she hears Zoe is caught up in the carnage. While she races to the scene, brave Oscar risks his life to get Zoe and save the day. As if all this wasn’t enough, Oscar's dad Max Branning suddenly rocks up in the middle of everything…

There’s much for Max to catch up on, but as the flames die down there are many questions about how the fire started – including whether it was a deliberate act of arson.

In the aftermath, unstable Zoe is feeling more shaken than ever. Was the fire started on purpose by her sinister stalker, playing their most toxic trick yet? Or was it unconnected, and there’s something else going on?

These scenes will air on Monday, 15 December and Tuesday, 16 December.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.

Nicola tells George that she’s pregnant with his baby to stop him from going to the police about Okie’s murder following a confession from Harry.

Meanwhile, Kat issues both Anthony and Zoe with big warnings as she becomes increasingly desperate to keep her daughter safe from harm.

As next week begins on the Square, more huge drama ensues as George checks in on Harry for Gina, who wants to reunite with her former boyfriend, but isn’t sure whether it’s too soon after his ordeal with drug dealer Okie.

When a downbeat Harry then admits to George that he was the real killer of Okie and not Teddy, George urges him to go to the police station and confess to his crime so Teddy can be released from custody and have the false murder charges against him dropped despite his decision to plead guilty over Okie’s death.

However, Nicola manages to stop Harry from doing anything drastic before it’s too late, and she then tells George that she’s pregnant with his baby to stop him from going to the police himself.

George initially thinks that Nicola’s lying to get Harry off the hook, but after a conversation with Honey, he realises his ex lover is telling the truth.

As the Mitchell’s then prepare to hear Teddy’s fate at his upcoming court appearance, Harry goes AWOL before taking more drugs.

George then goes in search for Harry, and after finding him, he once again encourages him to make a confession to save Teddy from a life behind bars.

Harry then leaves Nicola horrified as he turns up at the court to hear Teddy’s sentence, but will he throw the proceedings into chaos by admitting that he was Okie’s real killer?

Meanwhile, in other drama ahead of the festive season in Walford, Kat orders Anthony to leave Zoe alone following her discovery that a judge has ordered him to stay away from his estranged wife Sophie.

Anthony denies any wrongdoing in regard to Sophie, but Kat tells him that she doesn’t believe him and that he must be a danger to women as he wouldn’t have been issued with the restraining order otherwise.

When Kat then warns him that if he continues to harass Zoe, she’ll make him pay with his life, Anthony quickly realises that she means business.

Kat then tells Zoe about her discovery regarding Anthony and she warns her troubled daughter that her ex is now dangerous and not the man he once was, and that she needs to keep her distance from him.

Whether Zoe listens to her worried mum’s advise remains to be seen, but as her arch-enemy Sam Mitchell returns to the Square, she starts to think that she’s finally found her stalker.

As Zoe’s tormentor is then finally unmasked just before Christmas, she gets a massive shock. But who is it?

Lauren’s new alliance with Zoe puts her in danger as both women are watched from afar, and Kim’s left reeling following Anthony’s outburst about Howie.

Meanwhile, trouble continues at No20 following the exposure of Howie’s dirty secrets.

Will Anthony’s revelations lead to a break-up between Howie and Kim?

Elsewhere, George decides to take the recent advice that he’s been given from both Anna and Kojo's therapist by talking things through with Harry.

Kojo also encourages Harry to attend Okie’s memorial, but will he agree to go?

At the same time, as Nicola starts to feel sick, she fails to take her chance to tell George that she's pregnant with his baby.

Finally, Lexi enlists help from Billy as she tries to convince Phil that he should take a role in Nigel's film, and Lily makes another plea to Jean as she continues to try and convince her nan to get professional help.
