🚨 Help Utah Families Access Behavioral Health Care — Urge Your State Senator to Vote YES on HB 71.
Too many Utah families face long wait times, inaccurate insurance directories, and hours spent calling providers who aren’t accepting patients or don’t take their insurance. When someone is ready to seek help, these barriers can delay or prevent lifesaving care.
HB 71 would help Utah residents find and access care by:
✅Making directories easy to find, searchable, downloadable, and available without login
✅Requiring plain-language explanations of insurance networks, referrals, and prior authorization requirements
✅Requiring insurers to help patients access out-of-network providers if timely in-network appointments aren't available
✅Mandating insurers regularly verify and update provider directories and fix inaccuracies
HB 71 has passed the House and is now awaiting a final vote in the Utah Senate. Lawmakers could act at any time.
📣 Tell your State Senator to vote YES on HB 71 and remove barriers to behavioral health care in Utah.
Utah has a critical opportunity to improve access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment. HB 71 would require accurate provider directories and help patients access care when appointments aren’t available. The Senate could vote any day—your voice can make a difference.
