Regular visits to your chiropractor can help keep your nervous system healthy and keep problems from becoming permanent. And, although many people think of chiropractors as spine doctors, we have a wealth of information on how to keep your WHOLE body healthy. If you don't have a chiropractor, you might want to think about getting one to partner in your wellness. Check out Dr. Kristen's Wellness Wonderland with Dr. Kristen Ball page for a whole bunch of healthy living tips, tools, and tactics!
Do you know your own body?
How well do you pay attention to what it is trying to tell you?
Do you notice the small changes that indicate something isn't quite right?
Do you just blow them off saying, "Oh, it's just part of getting older", or "Oh, it's nothing"?
Do you notice them but just hope they will go away or just hope they don't get worse?
The truth is, our bodies are giving us information on how it is functioning every day. We notice some of them, we ignore many of them, we worry about things that hurt us or get progressively worse, but do we step in and take measures to change them at the earliest warning bell?
In just about every case, noticing a problem and addressing it as soon as it starts will result in the best outcome. Making lifestyle choices in our younger years to support how we want to live in our "golden" years is essential. You don't get to live a healthy retirement by luck. It's by the choices you made every day up until that point. The sooner you address an issue, the less likely it will get serious and alter your life possibly permanently. Our bodies are amazingly resilient and will cope with an issue for many, many years before it sets off all the warning bells and alarms alerting you that you have a real medical issue. The heart attack at 50 started at 30, the cancer at 55 started at 26, type 2 diabetes that requires insulin at 60 started at 28, that osteoporotic bone fracture at 70 started at 23, you get the idea.
So, what kinds of things is your body trying to tell you πππππ πππ? Are you going to stop, listen, ππ£π do something to change the trajectory of your health? Or, are you going to put your health on the back burner and wait until your body ππ¨π«πππ¬ you to do something about it (and by then, the permanent damage has already been done)?
I'll share something in the comments that I've noticed about my health and have decided to take seriously π§π¨π°, before more damage is done. Feel free to share in the comments something that you are going to work to correct so that you don't suffer catastrophic consequences later.
