The Cordwainer Memory Care Assisted Living is a carefully designed community purpose-built for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With only 54 suites, this intimate community features unique programming designed to stimulate cognitive activity through music, art and foreign languages. Community amenities include all-inclusive pricing, spacious living, dining and activity rooms, indoor and outdoor sensory gardens, wood workshop, barbershop and salon, a private suite for families, performance and rejuvenation centers and extensive natural light. Services include an onsite executive chef, nursing and personal care assistants, wellness programs, laundry and housekeeping, medication management, transportation and more.

Yesterday was one of the favorites here at The Cordwainer! Our barber and hairstylist set up shop, and our residents enjoyed a true salon and barbershop experience without ever leaving home.

We’re especially proud to share something that makes our community unique — we have a designated barber shop created specifically for our gentlemen. With the classic barber pole, vintage touches, and that familiar barbershop feel, it’s a space designed to make our men feel comfortable, valued, and celebrated.

For many of our residents, a visit to the salon and barber shop isn’t just about a haircut — it’s about routine, dignity, conversation, and the memories that come with it. Seeing the smiles, the relaxed shoulders, and the boost of confidence after a fresh cut, shave or trim reminds us why these meaningful details matter so much.

At The Cordwainer, we believe in creating spaces that honor who our residents are — and sometimes that means bringing back the charm of a classic neighborhood barber shop. 💈
