On National End-of-Life Doula Day, we recognize the care that End-of-Life Doulas bring to families every day. With their guidance, our patients feel an added layer of presence and understanding during life's most difficult moments.

We are deeply honored to have dedicated a patient room at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in loving memory of Joe Vita, MD: a respected cardiologist, father, husband, and friend. After his passing in 2014, his wife Gina Vita became a passionate advocate for hospice care, co-founding our annual Bella Vita event, previously serving as a member of our Charitable Fund Board of Trustees, and currently serving as a member of our Voices campaign committee.

CEO Renee McInnes welcomed the Vita family and friends. Celebrating the generosity of the Bella Vita community, Renee commented, “No patient is ever turned away for financial reasons, and Gina's remarkable generosity and vision helps to fund that priority."

The third floor of the Pat Roche Hospice Home was recently renovated to create space for two additional patient rooms, add offices for team members, and build out dedicated storage for clinical materials.
