NVNA and Hospice is a home healthcare agency whose non-profit mission is to provide quality home care, wellness, and public health services in the community. NVNA and Hospice also operates NVNA WORKS as a private caregiving division. This page is designed to be a place where members of the NVNA and Hospice community – or those who live in any one of our nearly 30 service communities on the South Shore and beyond – gather to learn about our services and offerings, as well as be kept up to date on general health news of interest to the public. November commemorates our tenth year of Bella Vita. With more than 90 parties held to raise funds and awareness for hospice patient care since its inception, co-founders Gina Vita and Claudia Dolphin invited our past hosts to a celebration recognizing the impact they have made.

We look forward to another decade of Bella Vita as we continue to increase advocacy, awareness, and thoughtful end-of-life conversations throughout the region.

Gov. Maura Healey has proclaimed November 17-22 to officially be Home-Based Care Appreciation Week, recognizing those throughout Massachusetts who offer dignified and compassionate care to individuals in their homes.

Thank you to the members of our team who live out this level of care every day for the patients we serve and to the Commonwealth for celebrating this important work.

November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and in recognition, we are honored to share the story of Justin Teague as told by his wife, Jean.

We are so grateful to have nearly 80 members of our community who use their time and talents to uplift our non-profit mission, from patient companionship to daily tasks at the Pat Roche Hospice Home, pet therapy, and more. Our volunteer department held their annual celebration recognizing this committed group who support our hospice patients and families each day as an integral part of the team.

Today, on First Responders Day, we recognize and celebrate the dedication, bravery and resilience of all those who serve our communities—you are the first to answer the call when help is needed most.

Thank you to these teams of EMTs, paramedics, police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and more who are partners in our mission to keep members of our community safe.

Last week, our annual colleague celebration took place at Ryan's Amusements to recognize our collective achievements over the past year and honor those marking milestone anniversaries with the organization.

As we continue to uphold our five-star care ratings, we thank our team for their skill, enthusiasm, and ongoing commitment to our mission of care. Together, we will continue this mission as Croí Health.

Karen Wenger, DNP, RN, Hospice Support Nurse, has been part of the NVNA and Hospice team since January 2024. In her role, Karen admits patients to hospice and partners with case managers to provide additional support during visits. A key part of her work involves educating and offering emotional support to both patients and their families.

We are grateful to Karen and the entire hospice team for their compassionate care and dedication to patients and families in the community.

This list measured 300 agencies nationwide based on quality metrics, peer recommendations, patient experience, and accreditations.
