Take care of your 🫐blueberries and 🐝bees. Clean-out-the-freezer and eat-all-the-blueberries season is one of the best! 😋
Low bush blueberries and the blueberry cellophane bee are featured in the 'Native Plants and their Pollinators' calendar. High bush are featured in 'The Bees Needs' with the Bradley mining bee. Bumblebees are also excellent pollinators of blueberries and superior to non-native honeybees. Both series are on Sale at greenblossompainting.etsy.com

Put that rake DOWN!!! The warm weather the next few days may make you really want to cut plants back and remove leaves and start to 'clean'. First of all, your gardens aren't dirty. Second of all, removing stalks and leaves destroys the ecosystem that is in those stalks and leaves. I admit I did pull back -by hand- some leaves that were a foot deep over some emerging plants right along my roadside. But I just pushed the leaves a few feet away into a pile. I'm leaving them right there for a while as temps are going to dip back into the 30s later this week. Go make another cup of coffee and relaaaaaax. New England still has some winter to throw at us.

The Big Night(s) is coming to New England, likely end of March and April. Local teams are watching temps. Reach out to you local conservation groups and nature centers to join one and help these beauties cross roads safely to mate and lay eggs.

It's a cardset bundling morning.
And I forgot to secure everything for the drive after a busy market. 🫣
Thank you Thetford and surrounds tor coming out Saturday. It was so heartwarming to see your faces, hear your stories (fox family with kits under your barn?!) and even get a hug from one of my most epic nurses.
