Last week, we heard from Jill, the Economic Development Director for the Town of Killingly, CT, who shared an inspiring presentation about the importance of affordable housing in building strong, sustainable communities. 🏑

Fresh from several recent conferences, Jill brought a renewed energy and perspective on how housing accessibility impacts everyone β€” from police officers and firefighters to teachers and factory workers. When the people who serve our towns can also afford to live in them, our entire community thrives.

Affordable housing doesn’t just provide stability β€” it fuels local economies, supports small businesses, and helps our region continue to grow in meaningful ways.

I have been offering twice-weekly Tai Ji Quan-Movement for Better Balance (R) since 2019.
Here is a very clear description of what we work on. It lasts from April through September, and October through March every year and it is FREE (free) to anyone in Eastern CT 60 years old +. It is available to others for a small fee-- it is on ZOOM so you can do it in your PJs if you wish!! From ANYwhere !!

We (Robert & I) are in Vermont this week, we are going through an Ayurvedic cleansing retreat which began already a week ago at home. My diet is very simplified, with healing herbs in a lentil and rice dish that has a variety of my FAV veggies. The reason I am telling you: I have been having strong joint pain for several months.
Already with the preliminary work I did at home on my own - (drumroll!!) my joint pain is Massively improved. Very significantly better.
It is not for everyone, but sometimes something new & different might be just the thing. LMK if you would like to know more about Ayurveda.

Our True Self is like the empty, spacious, luminous Blue Sky. The clouds arise, exist, and dissolve in the vast, infinite sky. The clouds, whether powerful or minimal, do not change the endless expansiveness of the sky.
Our thoughts, similarly, do not define us. The mental activities arise, persist, and recede within the field of consciousness that is our inherent Self. We are not our thoughts. We are the peaceful, balanced, tranquil awareness beyond the mental activities, that can witness the busyness of thinking. There is joy, ease and serenity within; we can remind ourselves of it, and bring ourselves to that place within. From there, our potential is unlimited.
