Dr. Scott Stanat recently reached an incredible achievement: 3,000 MAKO total joint surgeries!

MAKO is a robotic-assisted technology used in joint replacement surgery that enables surgeons to create a personalized plan for each patient’s unique anatomy, helping guide precise and accurate implant placement.

Behind this milestone are 3,000 procedures and thousands of people who have been able to get back to walking, working, and doing the things they love.

Congratulations to Dr. Stanat on this remarkable accomplishment, and thank you to everyone who helped celebrate this special moment!

We are excited to share that Dr. Sergio Casillas (second from right) has officially performed the first surgery using Backus Hospital’s brand new da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system marking a major milestone for our hospital and the communities we serve.

This state of the art technology represents the next generation of surgical innovation, offering enhanced precision, improved visualization, and a more advanced experience for both surgeons and patients.

Congratulations to Dr. Casillas and the entire surgical team for leading the way in bringing cutting edge care to our region. We are proud to continue expanding access to advanced minimally invasive surgery close to home.
