I lost someone incredibly special to me this week. My Aunt Pattie. đź’›
Her spirit lit up every room. Her laugh was infectious. Her stories were my absolute favorite. And her shoe collection? Legendary.
My heart hurts thinking about how special she always made me feel. How deeply she will be missed by our family. How shocking her loss when it seems like yesterday I was living vicariously through facebook posts of her adventures.
Just today, a video from just a few weeks ago took my breathe away.
None of it feels right. Or fair. Or real.
I know I’m not the only one grieving.
The holidays have a way of stirring up old memories and tender places in the heart.
If you’re moving through grief this season, please remember: you’re not alone, and you don’t have to “be okay” just because it’s the holidays.
Give yourself permission to feel what you feel. Create small moments of comfort. Honor the love behind the loss. And let your own pace be enough.
Be gentle with your heart—you’re doing the best you can. 💛
