Residents of Sheltering Arms and clients of Ross Adult Day Center had a wonderful time coloring Easter eggs earlier this month. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heather Ford-Bunn and family from River View Realty for joining the fun and for their generous donations of Easter decorations to our residents over the years.

Not every care setting is the same, and understanding the difference matters.

At UCFS Healthcare, Ross Adult Day Services operates as a medical model adult day center, designed to support adults with health needs, cognitive changes, or physical challenges.

Here, participants benefit from professional medical oversight, medication management, and therapeutic programs tailored to their individual needs—all within a supportive, structured environment.

But care doesn’t stop at clinical support. Each day also includes opportunities for social connection, cognitive engagement, and meaningful activities that promote independence and overall well-being.

It’s a place where safety, health, and quality of life come together—creating a community families can trust.

Shoveling snow is a leading cause of winter-related injuries and cardiac events, especially during prolonged storms like this one. In addition, temperatures will remain well below normal, with highs in the teens and single digits and dangerous wind chills, increasing the risk of cold-related illness and injury.

Please consider the following safety reminders:
❄️Take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion — heavy snow combined with extreme cold significantly increases strain on the body.
❄️Push snow, when possible, rather than lifting and lift with your legs — not your back.
❄️Shovel smaller amounts at a time.
❄️Dress in multiple warm layers, cover exposed skin, and be mindful of signs of frostbite and hypothermia.
❄️Limit time outdoors and take warming breaks inside as needed – it’s not going anywhere.
❄️Stop immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, numbness, or unusual fatigue, and seek medical attention if needed.
