A message from the Coach:

Hello,

My name is Alexandra Swanson, and I am the Head Volleyball Coach at Central High School (Norwood Young America). I'm reaching out to ask for support in a special event — our annual Dig Pink Night, which will be held on Tuesday, October 15th during our home match against Glencoe.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year, our Dig Pink efforts will go directly toward supporting a member of our NYA community: Jolene (Harms) Bergs. Jolene and her family have been incredible supporters of our town and school over the years, and now we are honored to stand beside them in this fight.

We are partnering with the Touchdown Club to raise funds for Jolene through pledges based on our Varsity team’s performance. We are inviting local businesses and community members to pledge a dollar amount per dig and ace recorded during Tuesday night’s match. (We average 3 Aces and 50 Digs per game.)

For example, if you pledge $2 per dig and ace, and our team records 20 digs and 2 aces, your total donation would be $44. It’s a fun and meaningful way to engage with the team and make a difference in someone’s life.

As a thank you, all participating businesses will be recognized and promoted during the event.

❗️❗️ We Need Your Help! ❗️❗️

Governor Walz's budget will eliminate chiropractic services for MN Medicaid/MNCare.

Effective January 1, 2026: Chiropractic care will no longer be covered under Medical Assistance/Medicaid and MinnesotaCare/MNCare for adults age 21 and older. This change was included in the Governor's budget and passed during the June 2025 legislative session.

It applies to all MA and MNCare plans, including third-party plans such as UCare, HealthPartners, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Blue Plus, UnitedHealthcare, Medica, and all others.

What this means:
- If you are age 21 or older and on Medical Assistance/Medicaid or MinnesotaCare/MNCare, your visits will not be covered starting January 1, 2026. You will be responsible for all associated costs of care.
- This cut removes access to chiropractic care for thousands of Minnesotans who rely on it to manage pain, avoid medications, and stay active.

These adults need non-pharmaceutical options for pain management without access barriers. Without value-based chiropractic care, they will likely seek higher-cost alternatives and healthcare costs will go up rather than down.

Please join us in reaching out to Governor Walz, our Senators, and Representatives to ask for this benefit be reinstated for people that have Medicaid/MN Care coverage. The attached link is a template for you to use from the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, please personalize it and add your testimonial if possible.

The comment period is open until 10/17/25 - so please act fast!
