National Doctor’s Day: Healing the Healers
Doctors spend their lives listening to others' hearts, but who listens to theirs? For National Doctor’s Day, we want to address the silent epidemic: physician burnout. The "healer’s burden" is real. Between long shifts and high-stakes decision-making, doctors often carry an immense amount of secondary trauma and physical tension. Massage and Reiki offer a rare sanctuary—a place where the provider can finally become the receiver.
For medical professionals, a therapeutic treatment isn't just "me time"; it’s "maintenance." It helps reset the nervous system so they can continue to provide high-level care without losing themselves in the process. A study in the Journal of Clinical Nursing demonstrated that therapeutic touch and massage interventions for healthcare workers significantly decreased perceived stress and improved sleep quality, which are vital components in preventing clinical burnout. Know a doctor or healthcare provider who deserves a break? Gift them an hour of healing at In Touch Well-Being.

St. Patrick’s Day is synonymous with luck, but at In Touch Well-Being, we believe wellness shouldn't be left to chance. This year, instead of just wearing green, why not feel green?
In the world of energy healing, green is the color of the Heart Chakra—the center of compassion, growth, and balance. If you’ve been feeling "out of luck" or physically depleted, a Reiki or energy treatment can help clear blockages, acting like a "spring cleaning" for your spirit.
Energy treatments help shift the body from "fight or flight" into "rest and digest," allowing your natural healing processes to take the lead. A meta-analysis suggests that Reiki is statistically more effective than placebo for activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is crucial for long-term healing and stress recovery (McManus, 2017). Don’t just rely on a four-leaf clover. Schedule an energy balancing session to align your heart and health this spring.

We often think of employee appreciation as a pizza party or a "thank you" email. But what if the best gift you could give your team was the gift of a regulated nervous system?
At In Touch Well-Being, we see firsthand how workplace stress settles into the shoulders and manifests as mental fatigue. Offering massage or Reiki for Employee Appreciation Day isn’t just a luxury; it’s a strategic investment in your team’s most valuable asset: their health.
A 15-minute chair massage or a brief Reiki session can lower cortisol (the stress hormone) and boost serotonin. When employees feel physically cared for, their loyalty and productivity naturally climb. Research published in the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork highlights that even brief massage interventions in the workplace significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety and physical strain, leading to higher job satisfaction and reduced burnout (Field, 2016).
Want to transform your office culture? Contact us to schedule a "Wellness Pop-Up" for your team this March. Alternatively, consider an In Touch Well-Being massage gift certificate for valued employees. Reach out to us today at In Touch Well-Being: https://wix.to/BnOh72g 😊👐

International Women’s Day
Women are often the world’s primary caregivers, frequently putting their own physical and emotional needs last. This International Women’s Day, we invite you to flip the script and honor the woman in your life who does so much.
Whether navigating the physical demands of motherhood, the mental load of a career, or the challenges of different life stages, your body keeps the score. Our therapeutic massage and Reiki treatments are designed to help women reconnect with their "center," providing relief and healing to offset stagnant energy.
Massage therapy is particularly effective for women’s health, aiding in everything from prenatal comfort to managing the symptoms of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. A clinical review found that massage therapy provides significant relief for women experiencing depression and pain, primarily by enhancing vagal activity and reducing stress-related heart rates (Field et al., 2014). Celebrate yourself or a woman you love. Book a "Restoration Session" today and reclaim your glow.

Supporting Your Young Athlete by Providing Relief from Growing Pains
If your child is complaining of "growing pains" or feeling sluggish on the field, it’s not just in their head. During a growth spurt, bones often grow faster than the surrounding muscles and tendons can stretch, leading to a "tightness" that can cause discomfort and even injury.
For our younger clients at In Touch Well-Being, we use gentle, age-appropriate massage techniques to alleviate this tension. Massage helps by increasing blood flow to those hard-working muscles and gently encouraging the fascia to lengthen. It’s also an incredible tool for "pre-hab," teaching young athletes how to listen to their bodies before a small ache becomes a season-ending injury.
According to clinical insights from University of Utah Health, children with growing pains respond exceptionally well to massage, which helps soothe the nervous system and eases the mechanical strain on lengthening limbs. Consider supporting your home team by scheduling a massage for your young star. Contact us for special reduced rates for students.

Your Heart’s Desire: Massage is a Path to Improved Cardiovascular Health
February is American Heart Month, a time to focus on the engine that keeps us moving. While we often talk about diet and exercise, "stress management" is frequently the missing piece of the heart-health puzzle.
Chronic stress keeps the body in a "fight or flight" state, which can lead to high blood pressure and increased strain on the heart. Our treatments at In Touch Well-Being, particularly our Reiki and relaxation-focused massages, aim to shift the body into the "rest and digest" (parasympathetic) mode. By lowering cortisol levels and promoting better circulation, we aren't just relaxing muscles—we are supporting your cardiovascular system.
A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials suggests that Reiki therapy and massage significantly improve the quality of life and reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress, which are major contributors to heart disease risk.
Here is a free takeaway for you to practice between sessions.
This technique helps shift your nervous system from "Stress" to "Rest," supporting your cardiovascular health.
1. Exhale completely through your mouth with a "whoosh" sound.
2. Inhale quietly through your nose to a count of 4.
3. Hold your breath for a count of 7.
4. Exhale forcefully through your mouth as if you were blowing through a straw for a count of 8.
5. Repeat for four breath cycles.

The Pride of Working with Five Olympic Figure Skaters
Whether it’s the triple axels or the grueling hours on the ice, Olympic-level figure skating is as much a feat of endurance as it is an art form. But what happens behind the scenes to keep these athletes soaring?
For elite skaters, massage isn't a luxury—it’s a recovery prerequisite. It has been my most extreme pleasure to work directly national and world champions, such as Alisa Elimova and five Olympic team members, including Maxim Naumov. The repetitive impact of jumps and the constant "closed-chain" tension in the hips and ankles can lead to significant muscle tightness and restricted joint mobility. At In Touch Well-Being, we focus on restoring that "flow." By utilizing sports massage, we help amateur and professional athletes reduce muscle tension and enhance mobility, which leads to maximal performance.
Research published in Sports Medicine highlights that sports massage can increase range of joint motion and decrease muscle stiffness—critical for the impacts and leaps required in competitive skating.

This February, we often think about giving to others, but the most profound connection we can nurture is the one we have with ourselves. At In Touch Well-Being, we believe that it is critically important to be in touch with self-love.
Whether you are booking a session for yourself or a loved one, massage and Reiki offer a unique way to lower the "noise" of daily life. While massage works on the physical tension held in your muscles, Reiki (energy treatment) focuses on helping to clear emotional blockages and restore a sense of inner peace. This Valentine’s Day, give the gift of a soothing nervous system.
A study published in Biological Research for Nursing found that a Reiki session or massage can significantly improve the body’s ability to handle stress and enter a state of deep relaxation. To make your Valentine’s Day even sweeter, we are offering a $15 discount off a one-hour treatment through February 14th.
