Brain Cellary recently sat with Dr. Olla, Psychiatrist at Valley Spring Recovery Center, for a conversation that is truly worth sharing.
When asked about maintaining consistent sobriety, Dr. Olla offered a perspective that stopped us in our tracks:

“There is a cure for addiction, but it only lasts for a day.”

That single statement carries so much truth. Recovery isn’t a destination you arrive at and never revisit; it’s a commitment you reaffirm every single morning when you open your eyes. The cure is real, but it requires you to choose it again and again, one day at a time.

Sobriety is not about perfection. It is about consistency, courage, and the willingness to show up for yourself today.
