While our programming at Golden Gate Recovery focuses on treating addiction on multiple levels, therapy plays a central role in addiction treatment, addressing the underlying issues contributing to substance abuse and equipping individuals with coping mechanisms for a sober life. It is our firm belief that the sole responsibility for each treatment program should be to treat the whole person, and this includes addressing all potential underlying mental health concerns.

Every client meets with our psychiatrist upon admission and will continue to see him as needed for medication management and regular sessions. We understand the fluctuation of behaviors and mental health at this stage of each client’s process, and it is imperative to ensure a safe and well-contained environment through a properly integrated and highly experienced medical and clinical team.

Here are some snapshots of our office in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco.

We offer longer-term, clinically robust, trauma-informed, and community-based treatment. Our clinicians are well seasoned in treating complex clients utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy ( ) motivational interviewing, and life skills. This is all intertwined with intensive work with each family system. Throughout each day, the clients engage in many groups ranging from psycho-eduction, relapse prevention, anger management, skills building, and process groups. In addition to our calculated group schedule throughout the week are regular individual sessions to ensure a truly individualized treatment experience for each client.
