Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a beautiful tradition that honors and celebrates the lives of those who have passed. It’s a time to remember them with joy, love, and gratitude—keeping their memories alive through offerings, color, and community. Our Día de los Mu***os ofrendas are up in both buildings. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods, and join in the celebrations.

Huge thank you to Moonstone Skin and Body Care for their matching donation campaign, starting November 1. If you'd like to help ensure people in our community continue to have access to healthy food, this is a great way to make an impact! Details below. 💜
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
✨ When you have more than you need, build a longer table, not a higher wall. ✨
Starting Nov. 1, SNAP (CalFresh) benefits will pause due to the federal shutdown — leaving many Marin families, especially women and children, struggling to afford groceries.
At Moonstone Skincare, we believe abundance is meant to be shared. That’s why we’ve launched Building a Longer Table, a community matching campaign to help feed our neighbors in need.
Here’s how it works:
💖 You donate directly to SF-Marin Food Bank or North Marin Community Services.
💖 We match your donation dollar for dollar, up to $3,000 total.
💖 We send funds out weekly so help reaches families immediately.
The campaign will continue until the federal shutdown ends or we’ve matched the full $3,000 ($6,000 to feed local families!).
Bring in, or email your donation receipt to info@moonstoneskincare.com, and we’ll add your name to our Longer Table Gratitude Wall — a growing in-studio display of generosity and hope.
Because no one should ever have to wonder where their next meal will come from.

With CalFresh benefits impacted by the government shutdown, more people in our community may soon be facing hunger. To learn more, watch this short video where NMCS's Senior Manager of Housing and Case Management, Liliana Palu, explains the effect on NMCS participants. Thank you to ABC7 News for highlighting this important issue.

If you would like to help, NMCS is accepting nonperishable food donations for our food pantry. Donations can be dropped off Mondays from 9am-12pm at our 1907 Novato Blvd location.

"Families are scared." Bay Area food banks and community nonprofits are mobilizing to help thousands of people who could lose their federal food assistance benefits on Nov. 1, if the government shutdown continues.

Please join us in welcoming Diego Mosquera, joining the Case Management team as the West Marin Bilingual Housing Case Manager.

Diego is a dedicated social services professional with over a decade of experience serving his community's most vulnerable members. Most recently as a Bilingual Housing Case Manager with Downtown Streets Team, he channeled his passion for advocacy into tangible results, with his proudest achievements being the successful housing of individuals and families at both Richardson’s Bay and on Binford Rd in Novato.

We’re so excited to have Diego join our team! His extensive knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset as we expand our case management services into West Marin. Welcome to the team!

Through a partnership with Marin County Health and Human Services we are honored to announce our expansion of bilingual mental health counseling and case management to West Marin. Our office is located at the Multi Services center in Point Reyes Station.

Last week our West Marin team held a BBQ for the community to gather and learn about our services. We had a great group of people join us for food and conversation. It was wonderful to engage with clients and community partners. 💙

Last week, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a heartwarming Child Development Potluck! Families came together, bringing delicious dishes that showcased the rich and diverse flavors of the many cultures represented by NMCS families.

It was a day filled with laughter, community, and connection — and the kids were so excited to try all the new foods and share in the celebration!

Thank you to all the families who made this event so special!
