It’s Tsunami Preparedness Week!
Do you live, work or play on the coast? Potential tsunami impact areas include beaches and coastal communities. Marin County surroundings included.
In the event of a potential tsunami, caused by something like an earthquake, local authorities may issue alerts (watch, advisory, warnings) that encourage residents to seek higher ground. In the event of a tsunami, some alerts will be official, others will be natural. Both are equally important. Learn how to prepare for a tsunami at ReadyMarin.org

Sometimes the good things in life are simple. 💛This week, as participants arrived at the food pantry, one of our volunteers asked a simple question:
“In one sentence, what’s something good that happened to you this week?”
Each slide in this video shares one voice from our community — reminders that even in challenging times, there is still gratitude, resilience, and hope.
Food pantries are about more than food. They’re about support, dignity, and community — making sure our neighbors have what they need so those good moments can keep happening.
Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and everyone who helps make this possible. 🍎

Neighbors, volunteers, and partners came together to deliver critical support—providing millions of pounds of food to those who need it most. This story reflects what we see every day at NMCS: the power of community to respond, support one another, and ensure no one goes hungry. Thank you San Francisco-Marin Food Bank for highlighting the impact of our partnership!

We hear stories of families getting back on their feet because – despite job loss or illness – they could count on food from the Food Bank.

When we keep people housed, we strengthen families and our entire community. That’s why housing stability, prevention, and tenant protections are at the heart of North Marin Community Services's mission as a multi-service organization. At a time when too many of our neighbors are at risk of displacement, your voice and understanding matter. Sharing an Op-Ed published in today’s Marin Independent Journal. Our CEO, Cheryl Paddack stands alongside Community Action Marin CEO, Chandra Alexandre, to lift up the importance of tenant protections and housing stability for all.

Last spring, dozens of families at Romar Court in Novato were forced out of their homes in a matter of days. They were given no warning and no time to plan or prepare. They had nowhere to go. Their landlord had so neglected the building where they lived that it was condemned by city officials.

Our Kindergartners arrived today to a sweet note from a leprechaun who left behind glitter, tiny green footprints, and a festive table surprise. This mischievous guest was feeling extra healthy—bringing fresh fruit and challenging the kids to build their own rainbow 🌈🍓🍀
