Novi Equestrian Expo

We have been fielding some calls, so wished to again share this info...
The Suburban Collection Showplace has been very proud to present the Novi Equestrian Expo (under several different names and auspices) over the past two decades; the event has always been a warm, fun celebration of the Southeast Michigan equine community… and an important local showcase and networking event as well. It is a tribute to all of our partners and friends that have worked so tirelessly each year to stage the event, that it reached this milestone at 21 years in 2016, but we feel that now is the appropriate time to discontinue the NEE, moving forward.

Management of the NEE was absorbed by Suburban Collection Showplace operations in 2009, during the recession, and participation did rebound to some degree. In recent years the attendance has again eroded, and it has become more challenging to keep the event economically viable and to attract fresh talent, audience, vendors and exhibitors each year.

We have deeply enjoyed working with the Michigan equine community, and plan to shift our attention and resources toward building the Equestrian Pavilion at the Michigan State Fair, held over Labor Day Weekend at the Suburban Collection Showplace, and we will continue to foster youth and 4-H involvement. The Michigan State Fair Equestrian Department ( including both Light Horse & Draft Horse) is extending the entry deadline to include entering at the show! Sara Ressler, Michigan State Fair LLC, Equine superintendent is pleased to offer this opportunity, in order to welcome more exhibitors to the State Fair, in an open show type of format. Stalls will be very limited, but there will be availability to show from your trailer.
