I am moving from Michigan and will not see patients at Holisticicon anymore.

It has been a great ride from 2010.

I wanted to practice medicine the way it needed to be- with a goal to find healing opportunities for our members.

I wanted to control how my practice evolved.

I kept trying to learn build, destroy rebuild and in the process stopped smiling for a long time.

Then one day life changed as a pandemic brought all of us together and also distanced us.

On a personal note for the first time in their lives my parents needed me to be there for them.

I realized if I'm fighting to realize my dream- and I am sure many of you have experienced it it moves very far from you.

So I woke up one day and decided to let go.

I decided I need to put out into the universe what I wanted to do, I needed to prioritize and simply let go of control, doing, planning ,thinking.

So I took up a job at Parsley Health and was able to get the gift of working from India and fulfill my desire to be with my parents.

And then miracles started to happen.

My husband and I went to North Carolina in 2007 as that was the place in the US we decided we would live.

There was no job there for either of us we had little kids. The economy tanked the next year and our home lost value in 2008 and we both felt trapped.

14 years later just like that he gets the dream job he wanted.

For me I get to love being at
A place with the exact same philosophy I have - basically Holisticicon on steroids in a good way.

I get to work from home doing what I most love- walking with folks towards their health goals. Working with a great community of physicians who think alike.

My husband gets to go the place he always wanted doing what he always wanted.

My parents get the support they needed.

All of this because I let go of control.

So thank you for those of you who have supported my journey thus far.
As I move from Michigan it is not good bye but "hastala vista" till we meet again.

You can continue to listen to the podcasts and also see me but at Parsley Health as I have chosen to smell the roses , take hikes, write, design and above all do what I love most - just be me!

Estrogens make us women
They can also create our worst malignancies.

Progesterone calms us but can also fail us

Thyroid is uaually a victim and not the problem and no one understands it.

Testosterone is the father of estrogen but can be selfish.

And of course the one that pushes us along tough times of stress the big fella, cortisol can push us over the cliff.

Join and tune in to learn how they support or egg each other on. And how to get them back on track.

Our bodies are amazing machines. We just need to treat them with the right fuel.

This machine (body) is phenomenal.

You can look good on the outside but what’s more important is what is happening on the inside.

If you are fueling this amazing machine with all the wrong food you can exercise all you want because your blood pressure, hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes can manifest themselves in your body.

By eating an animal-based diet frequently or excessively, you make your body susceptible to high cholesterol, high saturated fats which may lead to heart attack and strokes.

Instead, you should increase your fiber intake from natural and whole food sources and you will see immediate results.

The first step towards taking control of their health:

- Mind the fat content intake
- Eat a lot more fruits and vegetables

In the latest episode of Resolving Diabetes Naturally, we discuss ways in which a plant-based diet helps in reversing diabetes and prevents other chronic diseases.

We are what we eat. Why not eat nutritious food over medicines?

Every medicine that you take has direct effects.

You focus on the most benefit the medicine will give for that particular disease.

However, the rest of the effects are direct effects that are negative and harmful for your body.

You need something that gives you benefits all around and not just focuses on curing one problem and creating newer ones on the side.

Vegan Diet is a plant-based nutritious diet. Before your start following a plant-based diet keep in mind the following:

- Plan your meals beforehand.

- Eat plenty of non-starchy veggies.

- Create each meal and snack with a healthy balance of carbs, fats, and protein.

- Include a variety of plant-based protein sources in your diet.

- Monitor your blood sugar regularly.

- Take supplements as prescribed by your primary healthcare provider

In the latest episode of Resolving Diabetes Naturally, we delve deep into the ways in which a plant-based diet is better than an animal-based diet.

Did You know- As per Forbes, almost a quarter of Americans between the ages of 25 & 34 declare as vegans or vegetarians.

A Plant-based Vegan diet is a lifestyle choice in which you decide to give up animal-based food items.

Living on plant-based food items is called a vegan diet.

It is highly beneficial for diabetic patients as it has unsaturated fats which help in managing blood sugar levels.

There are majorly three types of Vegan diets:
- Dietary vegans, also known as "strict vegetarians" avoid consumption of meat, eggs, dairy products, and any other animal-derived substances.

- An ethical vegan, also known as a "moral vegetarian", not only follows a vegan diet but also extends the philosophy to the treatment of other humans, and opposes the use of animals for any purpose.

- "Environmental veganism", refers to the avoidance of animal products and opposes the industrial farming of animals as it is environmentally damaging and unsustainable.

Not sure if fasting is helpful with diabetes or not?

Let’s clear your doubts!

Fasting is quite beneficial when done under a doctor’s supervision.

You must know that you eat to live and not the other way round.

Listed below are the benefits of fasting:

- Fasting can cut down on inflammation and help with weight loss.
- It can also help in lowering your cholesterol.
- Fasting also improves the way your body manages glucose (blood sugar) and cuts down on insulin resistance.

Even though fasting is beneficial for you, you must not start fasting right away.

Whenever you plan to observe a fast, you must keep in mind the above-mentioned points. It is very important that your body is ready.

It should be able to adjust to the changes in the timings and quantity of food that you intake.

Did you know: Type 1 diabetes is most common in children and young adults!

It is true that Type 1 Diabetes is more common among young kids and adults.

However, it does not mean that it can not be diagnosed in someone older.

Type 1 diabetes is majorly caused due to 2 reasons:

- Past viral infection: Type 1 diabetes can be triggered by the virus as common as the flu or cold.
- Family history: If you have a family member with type 1 diabetes, your risk of developing it increases.

Hence, if you have got a viral infection recently or have a family member who has Type 1 Diabetes, these three tests may help in ruling out its possibility or make you aware of it:

1. Fasting blood sugar > 126 mg/dL on two separate tests
2. Random blood sugar > 200 mg/dL, along with symptoms of diabetes
3. Haemoglobin A1c > 6.5 on two separate tests

In the latest episode of Resolving Diabetes Naturally, we delve deep into Type 1 Diabetes and how it can be managed naturally.

Is Type 1 diabetes bogging you down? Are you looking for ways to manage it naturally?

Managing your blood sugar levels is not a battle but a constant & conscious effort for a healthy and stronger life.

Health coaches suggest that you maintain a food journal.

You should keep a note of everything you eat or drink during the day.

While you are keeping a check on your diabetes with regular blood tests, the food journal helps:

- You understand your body better.
- You recognise the food items that increase or decrease your blood sugar levels.
- Your doctor and nutritionist understand your body requirements better and suggest you diet and exercise accordingly.

Another important factor in managing Type 1 Diabetes is Exercising.

Exercise increases insulin sensitivity and helps your muscles use glucose effectively. This can lead to reduced blood sugar levels.

Listed below are things that you should avoid as a Type 1 diabetes patient:

1. Do not skip meals unless you are fasting
2. Quit Smoking
3. Avoid drinking sugary beverages
4. Avoid eating processed food
