Shana Tova to you all. On the Jewish New Year, I am wishing all of us a year of healing and hope, renewal and sorely needed peace, strength and resilience. I hope the New Year brings about a plague of compassion and empathy to see into the hearts and souls of those we've othered, to create a bridge beyond our divisions, one through which we recognize clearly our most important common humanity - so divided by all of the "Babel" these days. I hope for an epidemic that creates clarity of mind and heart to see through and beyond the false narratives bombarding us, designed to manipulate and control - narratives intentionally meant to create division and enmity and to ultimately disempower us - to maintain and usher in power by the very, very few. We are in this together, and are at our most powerful when united in caring for each other and our planet. I know that's a lot to hope for - but in dark times we need to hold onto a vision of a better world and come together to fight for it and to protect each other - particularly those more vulnerable than us - most especially those with whom we disagree. I hope to hold fast to the spirit of these words, promote them at Bryant West Psychology - and support and empower ourselves and our patients to live more fully, authentically, loudly and boldly - which is a form of resistance!
