Yesterday, my business was mistakenly included on a local list circulating online. I did not create that list, and I have no control over how widely it has been shared.

I want to clarify something simply and directly.

I am a doula. My work is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I do not ask clients about their political affiliation, and I do not screen services based on how someone votes.

Families choose support providers based on comfort and trust. I have always been transparent about my values so that adults can make informed decisions about who they invite into one of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.

If you have worked with me, you know how I show up: professional, steady, respectful, and deeply committed to the families I serve.

That has not changed. 💜

This post is in response to something I saw in a local parents group. Someone asked for help accessing abortion care, and the comments were filled with judgment, shame, and flat-out medical misinformation. It made me stabby.

Women’s reproductive freedom is a hill I will die on. If someone asks for healthcare resources, they deserve accurate information, not fear tactics or moral policing.

Maternal health in this country is not experienced equally, and the gaps are not accidental. They’re shaped by history, policy, bias, and access.

There are brilliant Black-led organizations doing this work right here; if you don’t know them yet, start there. Follow them. Learn from them. Support them.

I believe birth care should be safe and respectful across the board. That belief isn’t seasonal, but this month is a good reminder to say it out loud.

For families who know they don’t want the traditional hospital vibe but also aren’t totally comfortable with a home birth, this is such a beautiful middle ground.

Private rooms, showers, deep soaking tubs, and space for you and your partner.

Birth centers like BSD give you skilled midwifery care in an environment that feels safe, warm, and human, not clinical and chaotic. You still have safety protocols and trained professionals, but you’re not navigating overhead paging systems, shift changes every 12 hours, or hospital policies that don’t always center you.
