Someone once said, “The best time to plant a tree is yesterday.” Over 20 years ago, we planted this Red Bud tree in memory of Kim’s brother, Kevin Weast (always speak their name) who died at age 37 from melanoma. It’s the state tree of Oklahoma, where we were raised. Kevin left parents to grieve, along with his beautiful wife, three small children, and friends and colleagues too numerous to count Two decades have passed since he physically left us. This gnarly tree blooms beautifully every spring, reminding us that we always have hope. If you have never planted a tree, make this Spring the time to do it, and pay it forward for the next generation. 🌳
