Special thank you to our SGT Charles A Fricke VFW Post 805 O'Fallon IL Honor Guard, local Patriot Guard Riders, and Army personnel who showed up for honors this past Saturday in the midst of the snowstorm. (So disappointed we don’t have outdoor pics). We appreciate their dedication to continue to support our veterans and their families.

It's cold. It's windy. It's tough to do things outside this weekend. But the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard showed up. They paid due respect to a retired MSGT who served in uniform for 26 years.

Nancy Keplar, of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away January 21, 2026. Nancy worked as a custodian at Central School in O’Fallon, retiring in 2012. In her spare time, she loved painting and pruning her flowers. 🪻

Colonel Michael Anthony Wehrell, USAF (Retired), of Leawood, Kansas, formerly of O’Fallon, Illinois, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 81. A proud veteran of both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, Michael served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1993 as a Minuteman Missile Launch Officer and Intelligence Officer. His career took him and his family on remarkable adventures across the globe.🇺🇸
