Lengthy post ahead but I promise itâs worth it. đŤśđź
I often say, âCome zen out with meâ when inviting you to join my sound baths or Yin sessions. If youâre curious about the meaning of âzen,â check out this beautiful explanation below. â¨
In the holistic world, âzenâ refers to a state of mindfulness, peace, and balance that is often sought through practices like meditation, conscious breathing, and living in the present moment. It originates from Zen Buddhism, where the focus is on achieving enlightenment through direct experience, simplicity, and stillness.
In a broader holistic context, zen is seen as an approach to life that encourages letting go of stress, attachments, and distractions, allowing individuals to reconnect with their inner peace and natural rhythm. Itâs about cultivating a sense of calm and awareness in all aspects of life, fostering emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
When I invite you to a sound bath or Yin session, itâs not the time to be distracted by our smartwatches or the endless to-do lists in our minds. Itâs about disconnecting from the outside world and tuning inwardsâan invitation to pause, if you will. This is a practice, and though Iâm not perfect at it, Iâm certainly trying because itâs what the world needs more of. I see sound baths as sound meditations and Yin as mini meditations through stillness. And if youâre familiar with meditation, you know it offers numerous benefits, such as increased mindfulness, self-awareness, stress reduction, and emotional well-being, just to name a few.
So if youâve been feeling the pull to slow down, come check out my Thursday night Yin + Sound class from 7:30-8:45pm or my 75 min Sound Bath on 3/21 at
Come zen out with me. â¨
