Emotional neglect during midlife can hit a woman’s health harder than most people want to admit.

As a certified menopause coach, I need women to understand this:

You are not weak.
You are not “too emotional.”
You are not imagining what your body is carrying.

When a woman is living through midlife change, hormone shifts, stress, disappointment, and emotional deprivation all at once, her body feels it.

It can show up in exhaustion.
It can show up in shutdown.
It can show up in stress.
It can show up in sleep disruption.
It can show up in how safe, seen, and supported she feels in her own body.

A woman’s body was never designed to thrive in chronic emotional deprivation.

And that is why this conversation matters.

We have got to stop reducing women’s suffering to “just hormones” while ignoring what they are living through behind closed doors.

God designed our bodies with wisdom and purpose.
So when the body starts speaking, it is time to listen.

It is time to tell the truth.
It is time to support midlife women through the strain, stress, and nourishment they truly need.

And it is time to stop acting like emotional neglect has no impact on health.

The Mask Is a Health Problem

Some women are not just struggling with menopause.
They are struggling with what happened after the mask came off.

He showed up one way in the beginning.
Attentive. Affectionate. Present. Pursuing.

But behind closed doors, over time, that version of him disappeared.

Now she is left with distance.
Lack of affection.
Lack of communication.
Lack of emotional safety.
Lack of consistency.

And people want to act like her body is “just changing.”

No. Let’s tell the truth.

As a certified menopause coach, I will say it plainly:
when a woman lives in ongoing emotional disconnection, especially during perimenopause and menopause, it impacts more than her feelings.

It impacts her nervous system.
It impacts her stress load.
It impacts her sleep.
It impacts her energy.
It impacts her confidence.
It impacts how safe her body feels.

Stop blaming everything on hormones while ignoring the environment she is living in.

A woman can only beg for love, affection, kindness, and communication for so long before her body starts shutting doors too.

The mask is not just a relationship issue.
For many women, it becomes a health issue.

The food industry studies your desires. God calls you to master them.

The flesh says:
I want what tastes good right now.

Wisdom says:
I need what serves my body long term.

That tension is where so many people live.

And this is why discernment matters.

Because not everything being sold as food is there to nourish you.
Some of it is there to keep you buying, craving, and coming back.

James teaches us that desire has consequences.
So we cannot keep living as though what we eat is spiritually neutral when it is constantly shaping our habits, cravings, discipline, and health.

You cannot expect the body to thrive on what it was never designed to run on.

Psalm 104:14
“He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth.”

God brings forth food from the earth.

Psalm 104:14 says it plainly.

Food from the earth.
Not food from a lab.
Not food from a chemical formula.
Not food designed for shelf life more than human life.

So many people are trying to thrive on what the body was never designed to run on.

Then they wonder why they are inflamed.
Why they are exhausted.
Why they cannot focus.
Why they feel like they are aging too fast.

The answer is not more excuses.
The answer is not another temporary fix.

The answer is to return, as much as possible, to the nourishment God created to support the human body.

This is why I teach real food.
This is why I teach soil-to-table principles.
