Emotional neglect during midlife can hit a woman’s health harder than most people want to admit.
As a certified menopause coach, I need women to understand this:
You are not weak.
You are not “too emotional.”
You are not imagining what your body is carrying.
When a woman is living through midlife change, hormone shifts, stress, disappointment, and emotional deprivation all at once, her body feels it.
It can show up in exhaustion.
It can show up in shutdown.
It can show up in stress.
It can show up in sleep disruption.
It can show up in how safe, seen, and supported she feels in her own body.
A woman’s body was never designed to thrive in chronic emotional deprivation.
And that is why this conversation matters.
We have got to stop reducing women’s suffering to “just hormones” while ignoring what they are living through behind closed doors.
God designed our bodies with wisdom and purpose.
So when the body starts speaking, it is time to listen.
It is time to tell the truth.
It is time to support midlife women through the strain, stress, and nourishment they truly need.
And it is time to stop acting like emotional neglect has no impact on health.
