You would think that ending a bad relationship, or getting out of an unsafe environment would mean it was over. Truth is, even years after leaving a toxic relationship, your nervous system may still be operating in survival mode. You might feel anxious, overly sensitive, unable to relax, or like you're no longer yourself.
These aren't personality flaws - they're the left over survival patterns your nervous system created to keep you safe when you were in an unsafe place. There is a chance your nervous system hasn't yet recognized that the danger has passed.
Struggling to pinpoint why you’re struggling? Take the Survival Mode Assessment and see which of your behaviors, reactions, feelings, and responses may indeed be residual effects from the overwhelming toxicity you have experienced. Take the SMA Here!
