Meet our FYZICAL Oak Brook Clinic Director!
My name is Matthew Ganser, PT, DPT and I have been practicing in the field of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy since 2014. I went to the University of Wisconsin for undergrad, receiving a degree in Kinesiology-Exercise and Movement Science and then graduated from physical therapy school, earning a doctorate from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve always had a passion for physical activity, and I’ve always enjoyed helping others out. I was also fascinated by the physiological changes that we can create through exercise to enable the body to heal itself. As a physical therapist, I can provide exercises which create the necessary physiological changes to help individuals accomplish their personal goals.
I treat patients of all ages and backgrounds each with varying orthopedic conditions impeding their ability to accomplish individual goals, whether it be the active athlete training for a marathon, or an elderly client wanting to perform activities within the home independently. I practice using an eclectic approach which includes postural/movement correction, neuromuscular re-education, Graston, joint mobilizations, soft tissue mobilization, education, and taping. I am also trained in blood flow restriction training, McKenzie therapy, and dry needling (level 1 and 2). I have many years of experience treating chronic pain, post-surgical repairs/reconstruction, and providing conservative care to avoid surgery. I have a passion for working with elderly patients as it is touching to assist these individuals in restoring their independence within the home while also learning fascinating stories about their life experiences.

• I spent a lot of time hunting and fishing growing up.
• I didn’t fly on an airplane until physical therapy school and since then I’ve traveled to several different states and countries.
•I don’t just work on humans, as I also enjoy troubleshooting small engines and doing home repairs during my free time.
• I developed a passion for making barbecue after attending physical therapy school in Kansas City.
